Color Inspiration #41
I have seemed to of lost my creativeness lately. I figured the best way to spark it again, is to participate in various challenges. I am a frequent visitor to Kristina Warner's blog and thought I'd start with her Color Inspiration challenges. This week's challenge is this:

Kristina mentioned about possible Valentine's Day cards out of these color combinations. For those that know me, Valentine's Day is my least favorite holiday. I was in need of 2 cards so I used this as my opportunity. Here is what I came up with:
For this card, I used Riding Hood Red SU cardstock as my base, Basic Gray SU cardstock embossed with Diving Swirls folder in my Cuttlebug, Studio G stamp on Whisper White SU cardstock, and Basic Black SU 1/4" ribbon.

Long time, no post.
Sorry I've been MIA. I have been scrapbooking but just mainly layouts.

I recently ran across an ad on Craigslist.com for some Stampin' Up sets. She had 4 sets pictured and wanted $20. I called her to ask if she wanted $20 per set or $20 for the whole lot. She said for the whole lot! I was all over that steal. When I went to get the stamps, she handed me a Wal-mart sack with not 4 sets of stamps but 6 sets. 5 of the sets are Stampin' Up! I was in complete shock! So, I had to tell my fearless leader, Ellie, about this great find. She, of course, wanted me to put them to use. I haven't been able to get to all the sets but here is what I've started with.

I'll try and use the rest of the sets soon and post!

Wedding Card
Here is a wedding card that I made for a wedding we went to this past weekend. I started off with this:
I like the look but felt it was missing something.
This is my final product:
I don't know how the bride and groom felt about it but I was pretty pleased with the end result.
Backpack Challenge
I am part of a Stampin' Up group and our fearless leader, Ellie, challenged us to make these backpacks.
I didn't make mine into a backpack per say...here's my take on the challenge:
If you'd like the instructions on how to make the backpacks, check out Stamp Vamp's Stamp Happens blog. She has a video showing how to put them together.

Cards, cards, and more cards.
I haven't posted to my blog in forever so I figured I'd share some cards that I've been working on.
Just a simple card using the cute little penguin stamp and some scraps of paper. I used some jewels that I found in the jewelry making department of my local Hobby Lobby.

This is just a simple thank you card. The flower is a stamp from a Close to My Heart stamp set. I stamped it in brown on white cardstock, cut it out and placed a small pink brad in the middle. The thank you is a stamp from a Provo Craft set. The paper is just scraps.

I found this sheet of paper in my stash. I wanted to see how many cards I could make using this one sheet of paper. This is the end result.

I made this card using a set of Studio G stamps. I have no clue what I'll use it for but wanted to make something using those infamous stamps.

One more! I got a Cuttlebug today and wanted to play with it. The Cuttlebug comes with a set of embossing folders and a postage stamp die cut. I used the cupcake embossing folder and the die cut for this card.
